How we use your personal information

We collect different types of information in order to provide you with a high standard of service and to personalise your experience with us.

We may use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide customer service, manage bookings and enquiries, and personalise your experience with us.
  • To communicate with you about offers, events, and news, where you have given your consent to receive these.
  • To fulfil a contract with you, such as processing a reservation or payment.
  • To meet our legal obligations and to establish or defend our legal rights.
  • To understand how customers use our website and to help us improve it.

Sharing your personal data

We sometimes need to share the information we hold with other organisations. Where necessary, we may share your personal data with:

  • Third-party service providers who assist with our business activities, including reservation platforms, email marketing providers, payment processors, and IT support.
  • Regulators, public authorities, and law enforcement agencies where required by law or to exercise or defend our legal rights.
  • Staff at Kricket.

We do not transfer your personal data outside of the UK or EEA. Where third parties process data on our behalf, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Legal grounds for processing

We process your personal data under the following legal grounds:

  • Consent — where you have given us clear agreement to use your data, such as signing up for our newsletter.
  • Contract — where processing is necessary to fulfil a service you have requested, such as managing a booking or processing a payment.
  • Legitimate interests — where it is necessary for our business interests, such as responding to enquiries, preventing fraud, or understanding how customers use our website.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required by UK law to process or disclose your information.

Reservations and event enquiries

To manage restaurant bookings and private events, we use the platforms SevenRooms and Tripleseat. When you make a reservation or enquiry, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. We may also record the date and time of your booking, number of guests, and any special requests.

We also accept reservations through The Fork, Google, OpenTable, AMBL, OneZone, and Quandoo, which integrate with SevenRooms. When you book through these platforms, they share your reservation data with us. Please refer to their individual privacy policies for details on how they handle your data before passing it to us.

For gift vouchers, we use Gift Pro, which collects the contact and delivery details necessary to fulfil your order.

Payments and deposits

For certain reservations, event deposits, and gift voucher purchases, we may require a payment or credit card hold. All such transactions are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our own systems; this information is encrypted and handled by Stripe in accordance with industry security standards.

We also offer pay-at-table and digital ordering through Sunday. When you use this service, Sunday may collect your contact details and order history. Payments are also facilitated by Stripe.

Newsletter sign-up

When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. We use this information to send you updates about Kricket, including news, events, and offers. We will not rent or trade your email address with any other organisation.

Our newsletter is delivered via Me&u. We use standard industry technologies to track email opens and clicks, which helps us improve what we send you. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by contacting us at hello@kricketrestaurants.com

In-restaurant services

When visiting our restaurants, you may use our guest WiFi, provided by Spotivo. To access this service, we may collect your device ID and email address.

We provide an allergen management service through Menu Guide. Any dietary information you share through this service is used solely to filter menu information for your safety and is not used for any other purpose.

For the safety of our guests and staff, and for the prevention of crime, we operate CCTV in guest areas at all of our locations. Footage is held securely for 30 days and then automatically deleted, unless required for legal purposes.

Delivery and partnerships

We offer delivery through our partner Slerp and via Deliveroo. When you place a delivery order, your contact and address details are shared with these partners to fulfil it.

We also participate in card-linking rewards programmes with Yonder, Krowd, and Eat Club. If you use these services, they may share transaction data with us to verify your visit and apply relevant rewards or discounts.

Recruitment

If you apply for a role at Kricket, we use an applicant tracking system called Talos to manage your application. We collect your CV and contact information for the purposes of recruitment and to meet our legal obligations as an employer.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to be informed — to receive clear information about how we use your data.
  • Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue holding it.
  • Right to restrict processing — to ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — to obtain and reuse your data across different services.
  • Right to object — to object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where we are processing your data on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@kricketrestaurants.com.

How long we keep your information

We only keep your information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy and to meet our legal obligations. In general, we retain contact information for the duration of our relationship with you and for six years thereafter. We will securely erase your data when it is no longer needed, or promptly upon a verified request from you.
